UFC flyweight Jeff Molina has come out as bisexual after an intimate video leaked, with terrifying circumstances making him the first male UFC fighter to publicly identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Molina issued a lengthy statement via Twitter After the video circulated on social media on Friday, it began with “Welp.. this f***ing sucks, TLDR: Im bye.” He stated that he did not want to come out because of homophobia in the UFC fan base and wanted to go to his work in the Octagon.

The statement ends with Molina calling the person who leaked the video a “terrible troubled person” and expressing gratitude for the support he has received.

Molina currently holds an 11-2 record in the UFC with a 3-0 record after joining the promotion with a win over Dana White at Contender Series 30. His most recent fight was a split-decision victory over Zhalgas Zhumgulov during June 2022. He made headlines by wearing shorts with a rainbow-colored UFC lettering.

After that fight, Molina said he was surprised and disappointed by the backlash he received from fans, calling it “f***ing ridiculous” and that he would support “anything a community that wants to do for a while” oppressed and maligned for cannot help.”

His career was stalled after that fight due to a suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Molina was alleged to have had “substantial” involvement in a gaming scheme involving his coach, James Cross, who was allegedly acting as an agent for an online sportsbook.

Jeff Molina’s full statement on leaked video

Welp.. this f***ing sucks

I didn’t want to do it but when I was ready, the opportunity to do it was taken away from me.

I have tried to keep my dating life private from social media. I’ve dated girls my whole life and been on the wrestling team throughout high school, pursuing MMA throughout college, and even after being part of the dream and joining the UFC I have suppressed my feelings.

I’m a pretty macho dude and that bro-y banter and sense of humor has always been just how I am. The thought of my friends, peers, and ppl looking at me to see me differently, let alone treat me differently for something I couldn’t control. In a sport like this where most fans are homophobic c*** suckers, I didn’t see myself doing that during this part of my career. I wanted to be known for my skills and I have dedicated the last 11 years of my life not to be a “bi UFC fighter” and I’m sure that would translate to “gay UFC fighter”.

To that awful annoying person who decided to post this ishh, I hope it was worth it.

At the end of the day, I know my character, morals and who I am as a person. As much as I’m getting hate/s***ted, I’m getting so much support and it means a***ton

last but not least @benthebanedavis ua freak
