Tom Pelphrey Enjoying life as a father for the first time.

In an exclusive interview with People, ozark The 40-year-old actor opened up about his and Kaley Cuocodaughter Matilda was born March 30 and how she’s adjusting to new parenthood.

“It’s amazing. It’s paradise, it’s challenging at times,” Pelphrey says. “It’s the most beautiful thing ever.”

“I’m so grateful to have a partner I love doing it with because just two days with a baby in the house and I think about the parents who are raising kids themselves, and I Don’t even understand how they do it.” ,” she admitted. “My respect for single parents has gone through the roof.”

When asked what’s the most surprising thing about being a father, Pelphrey shared, “It’s really surprising to me how comfortable it feels. How to hold her and how to burp her and Sometimes when she’s upset all she wants is something about it.”

“It surprised me because I’ve been around a bunch of kids and I have nieces that I love who I was very comfortable with. But for the most part, it was like, ‘Oh, don’t give me that kid. I Don’t want to break it. And with Matilda it didn’t feel like that at all,” he continues. “So it’s surprising in a good way.”

Pelphrey also reveals how he became the self-proclaimed “King of Swaddling”.

“When we were in the hospital, any nurse that came by, I would videotape them wrapping because everyone’s technique is a little different. And I settled on the one that worked best for me and I found my Feels great about the wrapping capabilities.”

When it comes to the next year of being a family of three, Pelphrey is looking back to the simple things.

“Just taking her in the stroller for walks makes the whole idea of ​​a walk that much more magical and special.”

He says, “I’m really excited for all the holidays, finally going to the East Coast and meeting the rest of my family and my friends there. And it really makes everything magical again.”
