Fantasy baseball weekend preview: How the Nationals at bats can help you wrap up Week 8 on a high note

Fantasy managers in shallower formats should start aggressively this weekend, as there are plenty of solid options available in roughly half of Yahoo leagues. Streaming goals are a little harder to find on the hitting side, combining the best of national friendly matchups and widely available players.

matchup to target

Mets @ Rockies

Coors Field series often produce a lot of offense, but this three-game set is hard to predict. Things are clear on the Mets side – the manager wants to start as many New York hitters as possible against a subpar trio of Colorado starters. Included in this list Jeff McNeil (78% roasted) in shallow leagues, and Brett Batty (30%) and francisco alvarez (20% in deeper formats).

Things are more complicated with the Rockies, who face starters in two games (Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer) who have a lot of skill despite delivering inconsistent results this year. charlie blackmon (40% roasted) and Brenton Doyle (8%) are my two top picks to target.

Astros @ A

Until Oakland makes significant progress on its 6.95-team ERA, smart fantasy managers will have to target their pitchers. Beyond the five Astros available in more than 90% of Yahoo leagues, I’ll stream Corey Julks (1%) in a 12-team league.

National @ Royals

A Washington lineup with less star power could thrive against a bullpen with three mediocre Kansas City starters and a 4.74 ERA. len thomas (48%) should be started in every league, while cj abrams (26%), Luis Garcia (11%), joey menace (59%) and jammer candelario (10%) are in the 12-team-league lineup.

Braves vs Phillies

Atlanta’s dangerous offense could continue to score in bunches this year against three Philadelphia starters with ERAs over 4.00. Beyond the Braves’ five stars, who are enrolled in more than 90% of Yahoo leagues, Orlando Arcia (57%) and Eddie Rosario (2%) are specialized in the form of streaming options.

matchup to avoid

Twins vs Blue Jays

Six right-handed batsmen are starting in this series, and their overall skill level is quite high. Of the twins, the players were not named byron buxton And joey gallo are on imaginary benches. In terms of the Blue Jays, I’m looking to bench everyone except Bo Bechette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer And dalton varsho, benching work matt chapman Makes sense in a 10-team league, as it has cooled off after a hot start to the season.

A’s vs Astros

Considering Oakland hitters is even less desirable than usual when the team faces three Houston starters, each of whom owns an ERA below 3.25. starting speedster esteri ruiz Roto is the only possible fit among this group in the league.

looking for a steal

Those hoping to score some extra steals this week should target the speedsters in these contests.

Rays vs. Noah Syndergaard (Friday): Year after year, Syndergaard is certainly the easiest starter in baseball to steal a base against. There are many available rays that can take advantage of this opportunity, including Taylor Walls, Manuel Margot And jose siri,

Jose Caballero vs Roncy Contreras (Saturday): Despite showing solid plate skills (.825 OPS) and plus speed (6 SB) in 74 plate appearances, Caballero is available in 98% of Yahoo leagues. He can swipe a base against Contreras, who ranks third in steals allowed this year.

big boppers

Looking to add a homer or two to your total this week? Consider streaming to one of these players.

Nationals vs. Jordan Lyles (Friday): I already mentioned the Washington Hitters as great targets this weekend. They are especially appealing for their Friday matchup against Lyles, who has allowed 14 home runs. Top streaming destinations (in order of preference) include Jammer Candelario, Lane Thomas, Joey Meneses And Luis Garcia,

Rangers vs. Grayson Rodriguez (Friday): Texas has several hitters who perform well against right-handed pitching, which puts them in prime position to take on Rodriguez (2.1 HR/9) on Friday. Prime candidates are players who are enrolled in virtually all leagues, such as corey caesar And Nathaniel LoweBut ezequiel duran Shows surprising pop and remains available in shallow formats.
