Chicago dramedy royalty is coming Bearit turns out Diversity Reporting That Bob Odenkirk—he’s a master of basically every genre he sets his mind to—will be guest-starring in the second season of the well-received FX show. That’s right: The man who helped catapult “The Bears” into the public consciousness is coming out BearJoining the world of fine Chicago style Italian beef.
Here’s what we know Odenkirk will play in the series about a professional chef (Jeremy Allen White) who returns to his old hometown: Zilch-O to the chaos of his family restaurant. (Except, as noted, that it will be a guest role, presumably not anything more regular or recurring.) Neither FX, nor even Odenkirk’s camp, have confirmed the casting, and his character has not actually been cast. Details on who might be in are being held in full. By hiding (That being said, as Odenkirk fans of old, we can’t help but feel that Beef/Bear might be the perfect spot for a classic Odenkirk “God damn it!” Let’s have a rush of food. Odenkirk, of course, is already pretty busy these days: He recently starred in lucky hankhis second straight series at AMC, following the end of better call Saul At the end of last year. During this, Bear Himself leading the way with some serious buzz this time; Although it hasn’t been on long enough to score any Emmys yet, the series garnered huge critical approval in its first season on the air, as it depicted the chaos, comedy, and drama of an overcrowded Chicago kitchen. This includes several acting awards earlier this year, including wins for White and co-star Ayo Adebiri.
