Aaron Boone tells Yankees to ‘prepare and compete’ after 15-2 loss to Rangers

Aaron Boone messaged about Yankees Afterwards 15-2 loss to the Texas Rangers on Sunday Marked a new low for New York (15–14), who entered May tied with the Boston Red Sox for last place in the AL East.

“Prepare and compete,” Boone said after the Yankees’ third straight Series loss and sixth in eight games. “We’re obviously a little up against it right now, but we’ve got to keep preparing and competing and feel like we’re the ones who want to get ourselves out of it a little bit. We had some good ones. -bat today, But we’ve got to find a way – missing some pieces and stuff – to score some runs.

“It’s tough, when you get behind like that, to find your way back. But we’ve certainly just found a way with some mixing and matching.”

To speak of Boone, the Yankees were without Giancarlo Stanton (on 10-day IL with left hamstring strain) and aaron judge (day-long, right hip strain) during a three-game stretch in which Texas (17-11) limited New York to four runs.
