If Brock Purdy had not suffered an injury in the 49ers’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, would the outcome have been different?

Former Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, who signed a four-year deal for $84 million contract with the 49ers entered free agency this week KNBR 680’s “Papa & Lund” on Friday where they discussed how injuries to Purdy and backup quarterback Josh Johnson affected the game.

Hargrave said, “We knew it was going to be different when you can only run the ball.” “When both quarterbacks go out, and you know exactly what you’re trying to do. Of course, it made it a lot easier for us.”

“Trust me, we’ve seen the film made on Brock escaping. We knew trying to get him would be a challenge, so it certainly would have been a different game if he’d stayed.”

With a working passing game, the 49ers will score more than seven points in what is expected to be a brutal matchup between the two best rosters in the NFL.
